Yew Chung College of Early Childhood Education (YCCECE) is pleased to receive a generous donation of HK$250,000 to form our first academic research fund — the “So Yeung Suk Ming Research Fund”. With support from the Hong Kong SAR Government Research Matching Grant Scheme, the fund will also be matched dollar-for-dollar and doubled to a total fund of HK$500,000, which will foster the College and our newly established research arm to initiate impactful ECE academic research projects, focusing on areas such as Child Development, Infant & Toddlers Care, Special Education Needs and many more.
YCCECE has endeavored to become the ECE centre of excellence in Asia since upgrading as Asia’s first and only ECE degree-granting institution specializing in ECE in 2018. In 2019, the College also launched the Pamela Peck Discovery Space – Hong Kong’s first exploratory learning-through-play space designed for children from birth to eight years of age and their families, aiming to actively promote innovative best practices and the concept of ‘Play-based learning’ in the community. The College believes the establishment of the “So Yeung Suk Ming Research Fund” will not only enhance the academic standard at YCCECE but also benefit various stakeholders including children, parents, teachers and policy makers with our insightful research findings.
YCCECE is deeply grateful to many philanthropists who enable us to carry out our mission and values. Please visit our website to learn more about YCCECE or to make a gift: https://www.yccece.edu.hk/tc/yew-chung-ece-giving/.
