Position Summary:

The HOME and SCHOOL-based support model for K2P transition is a 2-year project to set up a HOME and SCHOOL-based “through-train” support model for KINDERGARTEN-to-PRIMARY (“K2P”) transition. This projects aims to:

  • Support children, family, and community in K2P transition; provide solid foundation for primary school stage and promote school readiness
  • Equip children with a positive mindset and readiness for a new learning environment
  • Prepare parents with parental skills and access to a support network for parental wellness
  • Empower In-service teachers with knowledge and provide teaching tools to address students’ wellness
  • Provide Pre-service teachers training and practicum opportunity with field experience through implementing a socio-emotional intervention using picture storybooks

The job holder will perform the following duties:

  • Support children, family, and community in K2P transition; provide solid foundation for primary school stage and promote school readiness
  • Liaise with school and arrange in-class supply teaching schedule
  • Manage administration paper works
  • Taking on other duties as assigned by the Project Leader

Requirements:

Applicants should meet the following requirements:

  • Master’s degree or above; have education research experience
  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding about Hong Kong School education systems and demonstrated success in engaging with the educational community
  • Preference will be given to those who has experience working in or with schools

Salary and Fringe Benefits:

Remuneration is competitive and will be based on qualifications and relevant experience. The College offers group medical insurance, staff development support, annual leave and sick leave, and Mandatory Provident Fund to eligible appointee(s).
