300+ Educators and Practitioners Shed Light on Child Protection Initiatives
23 November 2021
The Child Protection Series#2: Early Identification and Case Sharing was successfully held with over 300 early childhood educators and practitioners on 23 November 2021 (Tuesday). The webinar began with opening remarks delivered by Professor Allan Yuen, President, Yew Chung College of Early Childhood Education (YCCECE) and Dr Jane Lee, Member of the Board of Governors, YCCECE cum Director, Hong Kong Sheng Kung Hui Welfare Council (HKSKHWC), followed by true stories sharing by four experienced social workers and counsellors from Hong Kong Sheng Kung Hui Welfare Council (HKSKHWC) on identifying child neglect cases through close observation on children’s behaviours and attitudes.
Aiming to lead the development of early childhood education, the College introduced the ‘Child Protection Series’ back in June 2021 that explore healthy parenting and children’s rights. Partnering with the Centre for Health Education and Health Promotion of the Chinese University of Hong Kong, and the Health Education and Health Promotion Foundation, the first seminar received positive response and paved the way for further collaboration with HKSKHWC for a second seminar.
