Yew Chung College of Early Childhood Education hosted the ‘Early Childhood Education Workshop’ in Shenzhen, China

From 22 to 24 June 2019, an ‘Early Childhood Education Workshop’ was held by Yew Chung College of Early Childhood Education in Yew Wah International Education Kindergarten of Shenzhen Mangrove Bay Kindergarten. Prof. Ping Shi, the Adjunct Professor of the College, along with Adjunct Lecturer Ms. Huini Zhan, Ms. Dandan Zhang and Ms. Huimin Tao hosted the workshop. More than 40 ECE lecturers, researchers, kindergarten principals and teachers from 10 organizations participated in the event.
In the morning of 22 June, the President of the YCCECE, Prof. Shir-ming Shen, joined the workshop. On behalf of YCCECE, Prof. Shen welcomed the participants and took the opportunity to introduce more information about the College.
The workshop mainly introduced the most recognized scales in ECE — ECERS-R、MOVERS and SSTEW. The scales provide guidelines to ECE workers on not only how to evaluate the reflection of children but also improving the quality of education through in depth learning.
Participants expressed appreciation for Prof. Shi and her team as the workshop improved partipants’ understanding of how to combine daily practices and professional theories. Some ECE experts showed their interests in further cooperation with YCCECE.
