Overview

As the epidemic situation has last for more than 2 years, young children, adults and elderly may have experienced lots of emotion struggles and worries. YCCECE aims at raising the awareness of mental health care of people from all walks of life and co-organise a Mental Health First Aid Standard Course with The Mental Health Association of Hong Kong. Registered instructor will lead participants to understand and practise core values of Mental Health First Aid through lectures, case studies, role-play, suicide risk assessment and exercise on panic attack. In-service teachers, pre-service teachers, parents, child caregivers and others who are interested in mental health can learn Mental Health First Aid techniques from home to offer help to both others and yourself.

Course Contents

  1. Overview of Mental Health First Aid Framework & Principles
  2. Understanding of common Mental Health Disorder, such as Depression, Anxiety, Severe Psychosis and Substance Abuse
  3. Understanding of the importance of Mental Health First Aid
  4. Differentiate Mental Health issues and understanding guidelines on crisis management
  5. Recognise available community resources, assisting clients to seek for professional treatment and to utilize appropriate community resources

Professional Qualification

Participants who meet graduation requirements will be awarded the ‘Mental Health First Aid Standard Certificate’. Mental Health Association of Hong Kong is the organization authorized by the ORYGEN Research Centre of the University of Melbourne to issue the Mental Health First Aid certificate across Mainland China, Hong Kong and Macau.
