Position Summary:

The post holder, carrying a functional title ‘Senior Centre Teacher’, will work in the Pamela Peck Discovery Space to assist in leading the teaching team and provide engaging and stimulating learning-through-play experiences. Together with the Centre team and other College units, Centre Teachers will also mentor student-teachers, as well as provide community education and engagement to the community, such as parents and caregivers.

The job holder should be able to achieve the following functions:

  1. Assist in leading and supervising the Centre Teachers and YCCECE students working at the Centre
  2. Assist with administrative and managerial duties
  3. Support the fundraising effort
  4. Design Engagement Experiences within the Pamela Peck Discovery Space (PPDS)
  5. Plan, prepare and carry out provocations and learning activities at PPDS
  6. Keep accurate documentation of engagement experiences, provocations and learning activities
  7. Develop & facilitate specialized learning programmes for children
  8. Design and teach/facilitate community education such as parenting courses
  9. Participate in research activities
  10. Undertake any other duties assigned by the College


Applicants should meet the following requirements:

  1. Hold a Bachelor of Education in Early Childhood Education (or equivalent), Masters Degree holder preferred
  2. Have minimum of 5 year’s relevant teaching experience in early childhood settings and 2 years’ middle management experience
  3. Demonstrate leadership traits
  4. Should have excellent English and Chinese language abilities.
  5. Should possess effective communication skills, as well as relational, supportive, and team-player attributes
  6. Should demonstrate responsible and committed working ethic, as well as advocacy and ambassadorial skills
  7. Be able to work on weekends (Saturdays and/or Sundays) and public holidays as set on the roster.

Note: HDECE holders with less experience but with good potential can be hired as Assistant Teacher

Salary and Fringe Benefits:

Appointment will be made on fixed-term contracts, renewable subject to performance and mutual agreement.
Remuneration is competitive and will be based on qualifications and relevant experience. The College offers group medical insurance, annual leave and sick leave, and Mandatory Provident Fund to eligible appointee(s).

  1. Applicants with overseas qualifications may have to go through qualification assessment to be conducted by the Hong Kong Council for Accreditation and Vocational Qualifications. The costs for the qualification assessment will be borne by the appointees.
  2. Appointees will have to undergo a medical examination. Reimbursement of costs subject to a ceiling is applicable.
  3. Local applicants will have to undergo a Sexual Conviction Record Check / Overseas applicants will have to present a police report before appointment can be confirmed.
