On 1-2 March 2024, in collaboration with the International Education Research Office of the Shanghai Changning District Institute of Education, YCYW will hold the Inaugural YCYW International Education Symposium 2024 — “Transforming Education, Empowering Humanity: China’s Contribution to the Understanding of International Education” at Yew Chung International School of Shanghai Puxi (Hongqiao Campus).

Professor Kathy Sylva is an educational psychologist and a world-known early childhood educator and specialist.
Professor Li Minyi will be sharing the design of an online curriculum in Comparative Early Childhood Education (https://www.icourse163.org/course/BNU-1206418809), which has been nationally recognized as a first-class undergraduate course by the Ministry of Education. In the course, Prof Li discusses with early childhood educators and students early education systems in different countries and regions, including the evolution and the state of the art in Early Childhood Education and Care, focusing on issues such as the development and revolution in EC ideologies, national curriculum development and implementation, as well as the transition from kindergarten to primary, and the integration between care and early childhood education.
This practitioner-focused presentation explores the Whole Child Approach in ECE. Based on practical experience in high-risk, special needs multiage settings, Ana discusses its history, key concepts, and its standing as a fundamental and developmentally appropriate best practice in early childhood education.
