The influence of music on intellectual development of children is perhaps a mystery to many. Is listening to classical music the most effective way for children to learn? How can teachers support children’s learning by integrating music into the curriculum?
Research has shown that music plays a vital role in a child’s growth and in therapeutics aspect. It has profound impact on social and psychological development of young children and children with special educational needs, such as autism, learning disabilities, sensory or developmental coordination disorder.
Yew Chung College of Early Childhood Education (YCCECE) is delighted to present an online training programme conducted by Dr Grace Koo, former Visiting Scholar, Harvard Graduate School of Education and retired Assistant Professor, Department of Educational Psychology, University of the Philippines. Dr Koo will share insights on the impact of music education on children, and how music nurtures children’s cognitive and non-cognitive development.
