    • HK-ASEAN Foundation x YCCECE “Out of the Nest” Screening Sparks Dialogue on Childhood Resilience and Growth

On Saturday, 9 August 2025, HK-ASEAN Foundation hosted a special screening of the Thai-Chinese co-produced animation "Out of the Nest "at the Hong Kong Arts Centre, as part of the ASEAN Film Festival 2025. Selected by the Royal Thai Consulate in Hong Kong, the film captivated attendees with its moving story of Arthur, a teenage goat and delivery boy, who becomes the unexpected guardian of seven unruly royal fledglings. Through a perilous journey, Arthur discovers the true meaning of nurturing, protection, and personal growth.

Following the screening, YCCECE chaired a post-film discussion titled “Brave Little Hearts: Building Courage & Kindness”. Dr Qing Liu, Assistant Dean of Studies of YCCECE, and Ms Miriam Shah, Deputy Director of the Pamela Peck Discovery Space (PPDS) led the session and explored key themes in early childhood development, including resilience, risk-taking, and the role of family and social bonds, framed within the context of Hong Kong and the practices of PPDS.

The evening concluded with a "Get to Know YCCECE" networking reception at the Theatre Foyer, offering guests a chance to connect. It was also heartwarming to have the participation from our Yew Chung Community College alumni from a decade ago. The event highlighted YCCECE’s ongoing commitment to advancing holistic, child-centred education through community engagement and professional discourse.
