    • On the evening of 16 June, YCCECE welcomed prospective supporters and community partners to its reception, “Empower through Education: Discover YCCECE,” held at Club Lusitano. Dr. Betty Chan, Chairlady of the YCCECE Board of Governors and Acting Chairlady of the Fundraising Committee, delivered a heartfelt welcoming speech, reflecting on the 93-year journey of the YCYW education network. She spoke passionately about the College’s founding values and its steadfast dedication to nurturing compassionate and capable educators who can create lasting change through early childhood education.

Following Dr. Chan’s speech, YCCECE's President & Chair Professor of Child Development, Professor Kerry Lee shared an overview of the College’s direction and academic expansion. He proudly announced that the College will begin offering postgraduate programmes in the upcoming academic year—a significant milestone that builds upon its unique "Baby to Postgraduate" learning pathway and further establishes YCCECE as a leader(pioneer) in ECE in the region.

The evening’s highlight was an inspiring and deeply personal chit-chat session featuring two of the College’s scholarship recipients—Liz and Deep—alongside long-time donor Mr. Keith Lee. We are proud to share that both students from our Higher Diploma programme successfully obtained the four professional qualifications required to become registered early childhood educators in Hong Kong, just days before the event.

Liz shared how the scholarship empowered her to focus on her studies and student leadership journey, and she is excited to continue her studies in the bachelor's programme at YCCECE. Deep expressed that the scholarship enabled her to volunteer and teach Cantonese to ethnic minority children while maintaining a high GPA. Mr. Keith Lee, who has supported student scholarships for several years, offered heartfelt reflections on the importance of philanthropy and how it can empower individuals to overcome challenges and achieve their goals. He reminded us that philanthropy is not just about giving—it’s about changing lives.

As YCCECE continues to grow, the College welcomes further discussions with individuals and organisations interested in supporting our work—whether through support for scholarships, research projects, endowment schemes, student exchanges, SEN initiatives, or campus development. Educational advancement is a collective effort, and YCCECE is proud to be working alongside a community of donors and advocates dedicated to shaping the future of early childhood education.

The College extends its heartfelt thanks to all donors, and friends for their ongoing support—and looks forward to building an even stronger, more connected YCCECE community in the years ahead.
