On 23 August, Professor Kerry Lee, President and Chair Professor of Child Development of YCCECE, was invited to speak at a plenary session titled “Learning Divide in the Age of AI -- Is It Widening or Narrowing?” This session formed part of the “Future Makers, Thrive Together Forum”, hosted by The Hong Kong Jockey Club Charities Trust on 22 and 23 August.
The session focused on the crucial issue of equity in education, delving into how families, schools, and policymakers can collaborate to bridge the educational gap exacerbated by advancements in artificial intelligence. Professor Lee emphasised the importance of inclusive practices that ensure all learners have access to quality education, regardless of their background.
Joining Professor Lee were notable speakers Ms. Marina Chan and Principal Andy Li, who contributed valuable perspectives on community engagement and institutional support. The discussion was skillfully moderated by Patrick Sir, guiding the dialogue towards practical strategies for enhancing educational equity.
This important forum underscored the need for a concerted effort to address disparities in access to educational resources, particularly as technology continues to reshape the learning landscape. Events like these play a vital role in fostering a more equitable future for all students.
