    • The Infant Toddler and Educare Network ( ITEN ) Kick-Off Ceremony cum Seminar, jointly organised by YCCECE and Yew Chung International School (YCIS), was successfully held on 4 March. The event aimed to bring together early childhood educators from across the city to collaboratively promote a higher quality environment for infant and toddler care and education, fostering the sustainable development of the industry.

We were truly honoured to have Professor Kathy Sylva, OBE, a member of the inaugural Board of Governors of YCCECE and Honorary Research Fellow and Professor of Educational Psychology at the University of Oxford, to deliver the keynote seminar. Professor Kathy Sylva shared insights on transforming daily routines into powerful learning opportunities for infants and toddlers through “intentional learning” and “emergent teaching” approaches, offering immense value to all attendees.

We were also privileged to be joined by Dr Betty Chan, CEO & School Supervisor of Yew Chung Yew Wah Education Network, who has devoted her career to advancing infant-toddler education. Together, we celebrated the exciting launch of ITEN. In her closing remarks, Dr Chan reflected on the journey of Hong Kong's early childhood education from its early stages to professionalisation and shared her vision for its future development.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to all the early childhood educators who attended the event and extend special thanks to Professor Kathy Sylva and Dr Chan Po-king for taking the time to share their invaluable expertise, which has brought inspiration and momentum to the field of infant and toddler education in Hong Kong.
