    • Programme Objectives

      Upon successful completion of the Programme, students will be able to achieve the following:

       

      1. Engage in lifelong learning with capability for independent learning and critical thinking.
      2. Pursue further study, professional development and/or career in Child Studies and Psychology.
      3. Acquire and demonstrate knowledge and skills related to children's development in the early years, encompassing both typical and atypical development.
      4. Explore the influence of contemporary psychological practices, cultural factors, and family dynamics on shaping children's development. Function as effective team members of a multidisciplinary team and contribute to and coordinate activities in various areas.
      5. Demonstrate proficiency in language, information technology, interpersonal skills, and other transferable competencies.
      6. Cultivate an awareness of key issues related to Hong Kong, China, and the global context, including the professional standards and ethical considerations that guide child studies and psychology.
    • Education Pathways

      1.  Articulate to full-time 2-year Bachelor of Social Sciences (Honours) in Child Development and Psychology Programme^ Year 3 of the College.
      2.  Articulate to Bachelor Degree programmes offered in Hong Kong or overseas countries. 

      ^The programme is expected to commence in AY2026/27.

    • Professional Recognition and Employment Pathways

      Graduates of the programme are well-prepared for various roles, including Customer Service Executive, Psychological Services Provider for Children and Families, Public Relations Personnel or Assistant, and Teaching Assistant, among others.
