Over the past years, Yew Chung College of Early Childhood Education has made remarkable strides in the field of Special Educational Needs (SEN) by fostering a community of support from generous donors like you. Through our dedicated efforts, we have trained over 500 student-teachers with SEN training and positively impacted the lives of thousands of children with SEN and their families. Our groundbreaking initiatives, including the renowned Pamela Peck Discovery Space (PPDS), have become a vibrant hub for teaching, learning, and research in early childhood education.
As the demand for highly skilled early childhood education (ECE) professionals and exceptional services for children with SEN continues to rise, we recognize the urgent need to strengthen our teaching team and enhance our facilities. By investing in professional development and upgrading our teaching infrastructure, we can better equip our student teachers to serve children with SEN and create an environment where these children can thrive and learn through the power of play. Your invaluable support will play a pivotal role in championing inclusive education and empowering every child to unleash their true potential.
Together, we can transform lives and shape a brighter future for all.

As a parent of a child with special educational needs, I want to express my heartfelt gratitude for the recent event Pamela Peck Discovery Space (PPDS) organized. It was a celebration of inclusivity in children’s world, offering playful activities, learning opportunities, and growth experiences for all children. I saw my child and other children enjoyed every moment of the activity, from sensory play to creative crafts, regardless of ability, feeling embraced and supported. The firm belief that PPDS holds in unlocking the boundless potential within each child really touched me. Their dedicated team provided the necessary encouragement and assistance, making my child feel valued and accepted. It was a joy to witness his confidence grow throughout the event.

As a parent, I am incredibly grateful for the transformative experience my child, Jack (a placeholder name), had at Pamela Peck Discovery Space (PPDS). Through the inclusive play and support of dedicated teachers, Jack discovered a sense of belonging and developed crucial social skills. It has been truly amazing to witness the profound impact on Jack's journey. I encourage you to support initiatives that promote inclusive play, as it can make a lasting difference in the lives of children like my Jack. Together, we can create a world where every child has the opportunity to thrive and connect with others.

As a YCCECE student studying early childhood education and a family member of a child with special educational needs (SEN), I understand the critical importance of supporting these children for their future development. Inclusive play spaces are vital for SEN families, as they help alleviate parental concerns about communication and discrimination. Unfortunately, a lack of understanding about SEN persists, but YCCECE addresses this through lectures and a comprehensive support network, and PPDS play-opportunities. Shifting the focus from disabilities to abilities is essential, and robust community-based services can provide much-needed support. Advocating for special education through institutions like YCCECE can promote public understanding and reduce discrimination, ultimately enhancing the well-being of children with SEN and their families.

As the Chief Technology Officer (CTO) at YCYW, I am acutely aware of the importance of Special Educational Needs (SEN) and inclusive education in the growth and development of young children. As an internal donor and staunch supporter of the SEN program, I have witnessed firsthand the profound impact these initiatives have on students and their families. In my view, early childhood is one of the most critical stages in a person's life, and providing high-quality SEN and inclusive education not only helps these children overcome early learning challenges but also sets a strong foundation for their future academic and personal success. This is why I have chosen to support Yew Chung College of Early Childhood Education and its key initiatives and scholarships. Regular donations are essential for the sustained development and impact of these programs, enabling YCCECE to continuously improve resources, train educators, and provide the necessary support to every child in need. By supporting YCCECE, we are investing in a brighter future for all children, ensuring that every child, regardless of their abilities or background, has the opportunity to thrive. I am proud to be a part of this transformative journey and encourage others to join me in making a lasting difference through regular donations.
