YCCECE launched the 2025 academic year with a vibrant three-day orientation, welcoming new and returning students into a dynamic and inclusive learning community. Under the theme “Ignite Imagination,” the programme featured a wide range of creative and performing arts activities designed to foster curiosity, critical thinking, and innovative approaches to early childhood education.

This year marked an exciting milestone with the arrival of our founding postgraduate cohort, who joined the orientation and began their journey as part of the YCCECE community.

The orientation was further enriched through a special collaboration with the Division of Creative Arts at the Yew Chung Education Foundation (YCEF), of which YCCECE is a proud member. Four expert facilitators from YCEF led engaging workshops that explored the intersection of the arts and early childhood education, offering students hands-on opportunities to imagine, create, and connect.

Students also participated in a series of informative sessions, where they met college staff, academic faculty, and programme managers—laying the foundation for lasting relationships and a strong support network. Key highlights included a lively booth session showcasing campus services and student initiatives, and a treasure hunt co-hosted with the Pamela Peck Discovery Space (PPDS), YCCECE’s signature early childhood education living lab. The orientation concluded with a joyful celebration featuring student performances and live music, capturing the energy and creativity of the YCCECE spirit.

Dr. Vincent Chan, Head of Student Development cum Assistant Professor, shared his delight in seeing the enthusiasm, connection, and community already taking shape among students.
