    Advancing Quality Higher Education Through Collaboration

    • The Asia-Pacific Quality Network (APQN) Academic Conference and Annual General Assembly 2025 was held in Hong Kong from 20 to 23 November, under the theme “Embracing Industrial Collaboration for Quality Higher Education”.

       

      Dr Lydia Chan, Deputy Chief Executive Officer of Yew Chung Education, and Professor Kerry Lee, President and Chair Professor of Child Development at YCCECE, represented the College at the event and engaged in in-depth exchanges with scholars, policymakers, and industry leaders from across the Asia-Pacific region on how closer academia-industry collaboration can enhance the quality and relevance of higher education.

       

      Key conference themes included:

      • Industrial collaboration: Strengthening partnerships to enrich curriculum design and teaching methodologies
      • Policy perspectives: Promoting international cooperation and sustainable development in higher education
      • Innovative practices: Showcasing successful cases of aligning education with real-world needs

       

      Dr Chan and Professor Lee actively participated in several thematic sessions and held focused discussions with representatives from various institutions on curriculum development, teacher professional development, and academia-practice integration. These exchanges provided valuable insights into the latest industry trends and brought back numerous ideas and potential collaboration opportunities for the College’s future development.

       

      YCCECE will continue to take part in important regional and international professional platforms, constantly refining our programmes and teaching practices through ongoing dialogue and learning, and contributing to the advancement of early childhood education and child development in Hong Kong and the wider region.
