    • Remarkable Journey: The “Bright Start” Project – Shanghai Study Trip 2025

We are thrilled to announce the successful completion of the 2025 "Bright Start" Project – Shanghai Study Trip, held from 7 to 12 July! Organized by the Yew Chung College of Early Childhood Education, this initiative brought together representatives from nearly 70% of child care centres in Hong Kong. Throughout the journey, participants engaged with leading global experts and exploring innovative approaches in early childhood education.

Cross-Cultural Exchange: Immersion in Shanghai's Early Childhood Education System
One of the key highlights of the tour was the opportunity to visit seven infant and toddler centres in Shanghai, providing an in-depth understanding of early childhood education policies and environments in mainland China. Through on-site observations and discussions with educators, experts, and frontline staff, participants engaged in professional dialogue and exchanged valuable insights on educare practices. The infant and toddler centres we visited are listed below (names in Chinese only):

      •    上海交通大學附屬閔行吳涇幼兒園
      •    上海閔行區吳涇馨辰寶寶屋
      •    上海臨港耀華嬰幼兒教育中心
      •    南匯新城鎮社區托育“寶寶屋”(臨港耀華寶寶屋)
      •    沐心托育園
      •    鹿兒島嬰幼兒成長中心
      •    普陀區早期教育指導中心

Professional Exchange at the International Conference
Another key highlight of the study trip was the Annual Conference of the Pacific Early Childhood Education Research Association (PECERA). The exchanges provided participants with deeper insights into global trends in early childhood education, inspiring innovations in Hong Kong’s local practices.
Representatives from three Hong Kong child care centres showcased the significant outcomes of the Jockey Club “Bright Start” Project in the poster presentation, garnering significant attention and sparking meaningful discussions among international scholars and experts.

      Looking Forward
Inspired by the invaluable learning experience gained during the study trip, we eagerly anticipate the child care centres cultivating even richer, more innovative, and higher-quality learning environments.
A heartfelt THANK YOU to all the dedicated representatives from the child care centres. Your enthusiasm, passion and support made this study trip a resounding success!
Let’s continue on this journey together and create more inspiring chapters for our children!
